Summary of General Order & Waste Discharge Requirements for the Kern River Watershed
On September 19, 2013, the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) adopted new waste discharge requirements to protect ground and surface water from irrigated agricultural discharges for the Tulare Lake Basin area. Growers who irrigate agricultural lands for commercial purposes within the Kern River Watershed area must either join the Kern River Watershed Coalition Authority or obtain coverage individually.
